about

Owl Cave Frames

I make picture frames out of my humble shop located in Columbia Falls, Montana. I use 100% real wood (both local Montana softwoods and USA hardwoods) and thoughtfully source the other materials that go into picture frame making. The ideal picture frame should always direct one’s focus toward the subject being framed, while also complementing it with a housing that is precise, awesome, and authentic. Don’t live in the Flathead Valley?  That’s fine. I ship with no handling fees and charge whatever the carrier charges.

The Gallery Frame

This simple beauty of a frame has had a longstanding place in fine art galleries worldwide. Its natural and straightforward style cleanly places emphasis on the fine art being framed. Canvas art is common sized, hence these frames can be preassembled and shipped ‘empty’ with the canvas art easily placed in by the customer.

Floating Frames

Shou sugi ban (yakisugi)

Shou sugi ban (yakisugi) is a traditional Japanese technique for preserving wood with fire. The result is dramatic and gorgeous.
